Blak Ink Media’s directors, Jeefunk Mitchell and Joe Ogden, possess perfectly complimentary skill sets that completely cover the full gamut of digital marketing. Having excelled in corporate environments and as the directors of their own businesses, the duo first collaborated in 2016 and quickly realised they had the experience and expertise to create Cambodia’s finest full service digital agency.
Joe possesses advanced skills in the areas of graphic design, web development, and photography. His personal portfolio includes brands like Smart, Wing, Bruntys, Ezecom, and IPS.
Jeefunk’s career as a content creator and marketer began with TV production before a series of high-profile digital roles, working with Mastercard, Mercedes Benz, ING Direct, MacDonalds, L’Oréal, News Corp, Australian Rugby Union, Telstra, and the Sands Hotel Group.

For the branding of Phnom Choup, a new bottled water product, Blak Ink captured the fresh, clean and natural origins of the product which is sourced from the pure waters of the Kampot Mountain region. The bold design includes a clever use of Khmer script and the key copywriting elements reinforce the existing reputation of the mountain region as a source of pride, spirituality and natural resources including mineral-enriched water.
Working with the airline's marketing team, Blak Ink Media created the initial conceptual designs that informed the design of the current Bassaka Air website. Blak Ink Media specialises in clean, simple and functional websites that ensure usability is the highest priority, and our design for Bassaka Air was no exception. Created by Co-Director and Head of Design and Development Joe Ogden, the concept places the airline among the online offerings of world class airlines.
Your Cambodia is the perfect online destination for residents, tourists and expats in Cambodia. Along with a directory of attractions, businesses, dining, bars and accommodation, the intrepid Your Cambodia team travels the country, creating entertaining vlogs that provide a taste of Cambodia’s most stunning locations and activities. Blak Ink Media started collaborating with YourCambodia as their idea developed, and after a year of hard (but fun) work, the YourCambodia site is now live and rapidly growing.
Portfolio-Barb & Lotus
Prior to Blak Ink Media’s involvement, the ground floor bar and restaurant of the Pacific Hotel was primarily utilised for buffet breakfasts and traditional Cambodian meals for guests. The owners saw potential for the space to achieve much more. For that, they required a separate identity for the bar, and significant renovations. Within a few weeks, the Barb & Lotus emerged, along with its nautical theme, strong branding, unique cocktail menu and excellent cuisine.
Anyone who has ever worked with documents knows how frustratingly repetitive it can get. Zapdat works on the principle that anything repetitive can be automated. The key to Zapdat is the simplicity of the system. Unlike its complicated competitors, it can be set up in minutes and quickly become a workable solution. Blak Ink Media has created web content that will put the brand in a strong position to perform well on search engines as Zapdat starts to apply a more aggressive marketing strategy.
The Pacific Hotel Phnom Penh already had charm, great staff, central location and ambitious owners. What they needed was a rebranding exercise that would reinvent the image of the business and firmly put the hotel in a position where it could be competitive in the modern market. The result was the most comprehensive rebranding exercise we’ve been involved with as an agency. In terms of commitment, Blak Ink Media invested time and energy into every imaginable element of its design and user experience, not only online but also physically, including external signage and interior design.
Cambodia is a country where bottled water is an essential part of life, but locals have increasingly questioned the sources of popular brands. Recently there's been a strong demand for healthy and natural alternatives. Daun Penh Food & Beverages acted on the demands of Cambodians by producing a locally bottled premium product.

Blak Ink Media’s co-director Joe Ogden created the distinctive brand that has come to symbolise People and Partners Insurance. Drawing inspiration from the iconic villa that acts as the business’ headquarters, and representing the client’s focus on building strong relationships, the result is a memorable logo that can be seen on branded advertising, transport and sponsored community events across Cambodia.
Blak Ink Media has been an integral part of Designbx’s evolution, beginning with social media, content marketing and SEO planning during the pre-production phase of this ambitious start-up. Blak Ink Media’s Head of Marketing, Jeefunk Mitchell, was responsible for creating optimised content and ad copy, and continues to work at a strategic level on SEO. He planned the recent restructuring of the site’s content, which led to a sustained 150% improvement in search engine referrals.
